Educational Philosophy

Educational Philosophy

As a kid, I wrenched on mopeds, go karts, snowmobiles, atv's and Jeeps. Studies included a degree in Electromechanical Engineering at Wentworth Institute of Technology followed by a Master's in Engineering Management at Tufts. I worked at Draper Laboratory designing guidance systems for the Navy and then Abbott Labs managing medical devic

As a kid, I wrenched on mopeds, go karts, snowmobiles, atv's and Jeeps. Studies included a degree in Electromechanical Engineering at Wentworth Institute of Technology followed by a Master's in Engineering Management at Tufts. I worked at Draper Laboratory designing guidance systems for the Navy and then Abbott Labs managing medical device programs.  Over the years personal projects have ranged from chicken coops to airplanes including a cargo bike, shed, garage, barn and cabin.

Project Based Learning is central to Mr. Gabe's Garage.  We start with a goal and then learn how to use the tools to achieve that goal. It is a fun and rewarding way to learn.  Failure is encouraged.  Break the drill bit, snap the board, bend the axle, wear the safety glasses. Charge ahead, it's exciting.  Sessions will follow a Gradual R

Mr. Gabe's Garage is less than a mile from the Maynard Public Schools.  We are in the neighborhood next to Green Meadow Elementary, so crossing 117 nor 27 is required.  It's a quick and safe commute for students.
